LIFE. DEATH. AWAKE. GIVE

LIFE. DEATH. AWAKE. GIVE

There was a rolling gun battle in front of my kids' school! It woke me up! It changed my life. It made me write this.

It all started with a phone call. My kids' school left a message on my voicemail. It stated,
" Today, at 12:30 pm your child's school was locked down. We continue to be on lock down due to a criminal investigation."

I was in shock as I call the school, trying to stay calm. I work an hour and a half away from my children's school, god forbid Anything happens to them, I wouldn't know what to do!

They told me there was a car crash outside the school. Then I googled the story online and found out it was caused by a shoot out between two cars!

It hit me, we really don't know when it's our time to go. Life has no guarantee!  We can be snatched way from our loved ones in a gun battle, or they can be torn away from us in a fire.

If LIFE is all about impermanence...what remains when we are gone?

I'm sorry if I'm getting all philosophical up in here people. I don't want to preach.
But what truly remains are our actions. This Buddhist quote embodies this idea....
We must make good use of this life for the time that we have left, This brief flash of light, like the sun appearing through the clouds. – Kalu Rinpoche

So, why not perpetuate good acts?

Kindness is never forgotten. I know this.

Acts of kindness creates beautiful ripples that touches many. It even continues without you.

So this holiday season, let's give the GIFT of kindness.

GIVE

And if this is something you'd like to do in a larger scale, please join me and the Books for Love Project. Now going on its 16th year!

This Holiday Season we are adopting Special Education Classrooms. We are taking the time to get to know the children. We are supporting the goals of their dedicated teachers. We are starting the ripple of kindness.

 Come and join us!
